Goose is recovering


I his ouwn style and like no other Goose Perez is recovering from his 4th cancer surgery.

He is in high spirits and in Goose fashoin was sending along the play by play of his surgery. He now faces a little longer road to the finish line with Kemo and helaing but if I know Goose, he will not faulter on that either.

We shall keep you posted.....

Team USA named for 2013 World Wheelchair Championship

(STEVENS POINT, Wis.) - Team USA has been determined for the 2013 World Wheelchair Championship after a three-day tryout competition held at the Madison Curling Club in McFarland, Wis.
 
The five-person team is composed of 2010 Paralympian Patrick McDonald (Madison, Wis.); David Palmer (Mashpee, Mass.), a member of Team USA in 2012; two-time Paralympian Jimmy Joseph (New Hartford, N.Y.); Penny Greely (Green Bay, Wis.), a member of the last two world teams; and 28-year-old Meghan Lino (East Falmouth, Mass.), who will make her debut as a member of the national team. These five athletes will represent Team USA at the 2013 World Wheelchair Curling Championship on Feb. 16-23 in Sochi, Russia.
 
These athletes will be given top consideration to be nominated to the 2014 U.S. Paralympic Team, which will compete in Sochi, Russia, on March 7-16, 2014. The five Paralympic athletes will be officially named in December 2013.
 
Team USA finished fifth at last year's world wheelchair event and secured essential qualifying points for the U.S. for the 2014 Paralympic Games. The Americans are in good shape to earn a berth for the Paralympic Games as they are in sixth place in the qualification standings and will earn a minimum of a single qualification point by competing in the 2013 world championship. Countries earn points at the three world wheelchair championships in the lead-up to the Paralympic Winter Games. The 10 qualified nations will be formally announced after the 2013 world event. BEDENSEL ENGELLİLER MİLLİ TAKIMI ERZURUM’DA KAMPTA

Tamamını İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor’lu engelli sporcuların oluşturduğu Engelliler Curling Milli takımı, Erzurum’da kampa girdi. Gökçe Ulugay nezaretinde yapılan kampta sporcular, Dünya Curling Tekerlekli Sandalye Şampiyonası elemelerine hazırlanıyor

(Erzurum-GHSİM) Bedensel Engeliler, Tekerlekli Sandalye Curling Milli Takımı, Erzurum Curling Arena’da kampa girdi. Tamamını İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor’un sporcularınının oluşturduğu Bedensel Engelliler Tekerlekli Sandalya Curling Milli takımı, Finlandiya’da yapılacak olan Dünya şapiyonası elemelerine hazırlanıyor. Antrenör Gökçe Ulugay ve yardımcı Antrenör Murat Sağır yönetiminde Erzurum’da kampa giren Engelliler Curling Milli takımı, yoğun bir tempoda hazırlıklarını sürdürüyor. İBB’nin sporcularından oluşan Tekerlekli Sandalye Curling Milli takımı, Finlandiya’nın Lohja kentinde yapılacak olan Dünya Curling Tekerlekli Sandalye Şampiyonası elemelerinde Türkiye’yi temsil edecek. Tekerlekli Sandalye Milli Takımı’nda şu sporcular yer alıyor: Birsen Sapmaz, Turan Akalın, Engin Kurt,Berk Kamanlı ve Savaş Şimşek. Erzurum Gençlik Hizmetleri ve Spor İl Müdürlüğü Milli Piyango Curling Arena’da yaptıkları kampın çok iyi geçtiğine değinen Antrenör Gökçe Ulugay, dünya şampiyonası elemelerine formda bir şekilde gideceklerini söyledi. Ulugay, “Hedefimiz Tekerlekli Sandalya Curling Dünya Şampiyonası elemelerini başarı ile geçmek. Burada Gençlik Hizmetleri ve Spor İl Müdürlüğü bize güzel bir çalışma ortamı oluşturdu. Antrenmanlarımız yoğun bir şekilde sürüyor. Erzrum’da kamp yapmaktan mutluyuz” dedi.

Formed by the Istanbul Metropolitan Belediyespor'lu all disabled athletes with disabilities Curling National team entered the camp in Erzurum. Gokce Ulugay the camp under the supervision of athletes preparing for the World Curling Championship qualifier Wheel Chair (Erzurum-glycine), physical disability, Wheelchair Curling National Team Curling Arena in Erzurum came to the camp. Formed by the Istanbul Metropolitan Belediyespor'un all sporcularınının Physically Disabled Wheelchair Curling Sandalya National team, which will be held in Finland is preparing the World şapiyonası qualification. Coach Coach Murat Gokce Ulugay and help disabled people into the camp Deaf Curling National team management in Erzurum, is preparing an intense pace. IMM Wheelchair Curling National team consisting of athletes, to be held in Finland, Lohja the World Wheelchair Curling Championship qualifier will represent Turkey. Wheel Chair National Team athletes include the following: Birsen Sapmaz, Turan Akalin, Kurt Peters, Berk Kamanlı and Lightning War. Erzurum Provincial Directorate of Youth Services and Sports Arena, Curling National Lottery they passed the camp, referring to a very good coach Gokce Ulugay, will go to the world championship qualification form, he said. Ulugay, "Our goal Wheelchair Curling World Championship qualifier Sandalya to pass with success. Well Wishes for Goose


It goes with out saying that life is full of obstacles and my close personal friend Augusto Goose Perez is now once again up against it.

Goose as we all know him by shall be heading back into the cancer battle with surgery occuring on Thursday. This is Gooses 4th fight so we know he has been on the winning side of this fight. Lets all band together to wish him well.

On a personal note; Goose has been my friend for many years and it is my hope and strive to aid Goose and his family in this battle. My heart goes out to my friend and I hope that this community can back him in what ever way they can. Donations can be made online and be assused those donation will make it to Goose.

Open to mixed gender teams from WCF Member Associations that have not already qualified for the next World Wheelchair Curling Championship (WWhCC). The winner and runner-up qualify for the WWhCC.

The teams competing at this year's event are Czech Republic , Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Switzerland and Turkey.
