Apparently the log jam at the top of the leader board was broken by point differential because in head to head competition in the round-robin Chris Rees beat Jim Armstrong, Armstrong beat Ken Gregory and Gregory beat Rees. The total point differential (points scored minus points allowed) had Rees with +33, Armstrong with +26 and Gregory with +16. In point differential between only the three leaders it was Rees with +6, Armstrong with +3 and Gregory with -9. Either way you calculate it Gregory had to take on Armstrong with the winner challenging Rees for the Provincial Championship.
In this semi-final game Armstrong opened with a single and stole a pair in the 2nd to go up 3-1. Each team then took singles to go into the break with Armstrong leading 4-1. The Gregory team came out refreshed in the first end after the break and posted a 4 spot to go ahead by one. Armstrong took one in 6 to tie and stole a pair in 7 to go up by 2. The seesaw battle continued with Gregory taking a clutch pair in 8 to tie the game 7-7 and send it into an extra end. Seven was a lucky number for Ken Gregory because in the extra end he stole the one point he needed to win thus making the final 8-7. He now has to defeat Rees again in tomorrow's final in order to become champion and represent Ontario in the Nationals. Can he do it?

Two years in a row Jim will miss Nationals when playing in a Provincial Championship, wow.
I wonder if it was an attempt to get Mark some experience prior to World's?
Yes, gotta make you wonder why he is such a "big deal".....take a look at all teams coming to Nationals actually....the only one of the "select few" on National Team to be coming is Dennis....and probably only because his team couldnt find anyone else! Confirms yet AGAIN what a joke the "selection process" is.
