OCA Playdowns - Draw 5 - Completed

Sorry folks but due to circumstances on the personal side I was unabel to cover the games this morning live. So here is the wrap including the ifnal for and against points summary.

The last 3 games saw Team Rees play without Chris Rees who has been out ill with a bladder infection. Did this slow them down? No way! The fairy tale of the team continued; once again being down they came from behind to take 4 in the 6 and beat Richard Fraser 9  -7 .

In the other game, Ken Gregory needed to pull off a win to force a 3 way tie breaker to keep the hopes behind of reaching Nationals again. In a close match Mark Ideson was to much for Ken to over come and Mark ended up beating Ken 7-5. We will see if any changes occur next year in Team Gregory?

In the other game; Bruce Cameron needed the win to force a tie break and possible 3 way tie breaker. He beat rookie skip Gilbert Blanchette 14-2. I must say that I was impress with Gilbert. Being a rookie skip won was to play third to Don Bell, must be proud to have stepped up and taken his team as far as he did. Give him a little more time and watch out for Gilbert! Congratulatins.

So where does this leave us?

Team Rees moves directly to tomorrows fina. Will Chris play? Unknown. We wish Chris best of health and play or not he is a true sportman, supporting his team all the way.

This after noon see Bruce Cameron take on Mark Ideson for the chance to go into the final against Team Rees. See you there!
