COME TRY WHEELCHAIR CURLING

VANCOUVER CURLING CLUB , Hillcrest VANCOUVER
THURSDAY APRIL 5
 3 – 6PM

‘Come and try wheelchair curling’ session offers an introduction for individuals with a disability, to try out wheelchair curling in a fun and informal setting. The event will take place at the Vancouver Curling club at the Hillcrest Centre, next to Queen Elizabeth Park. The centre was the curling venue during the 2010 Olympics and Paralympics.

The aim of this session is to raise awareness of adaptive sport opportunities that exist and create a positive introductory experience! Other benefits from this ‘come try session’ will also increase confidence, motivation, independence and skill levels. The wheelchair curling session is being run in partnership with Curl BC as part of their CAN Curl More program.

CAN Curl More clinics are coach lead, on-ice and in-class introduction curling clinics at curling clubs. Curl BC’s Master Learning Facilitator and Assistant Regional Coach, Karen Watson along with 2-time Paralympic wheelchair curling gold medalist and certified coach, Sonja Gaudet will guide you through the basics of technique, skills, drills, scoring and game play.
