Day 4 Draw 7 - Alberta stands alone

To recap yesterday, two thirds of the way through round robin play, we see Alberta still sitting at the top of the leader board. This is not a change from previous days the difference is even thought they suffered their first loss they are not sharing the space now. A log jam in second spot is maintaining interest for players and spectators alike but giving coaches grey hair.

Great shot making was the name of the game yesterday in all games regardless of the outcome. We have seen an incredible difference in the abilities of all the players over last year. Even games with what seem like blow-out scores are far closer than they appear.

Rank Team  Win Losses Games Played Points For Points Against
1 Alberta 5 1 6 50 20
2 Quebec 4 2 6 47 22
3 Ontario 4 2 6 49 31
4 Northern Ontario 4 2 6 43 34
5 Saskatchewan 4 2 6 42 37
6 Manitoba 4 2 6 37 32
7 British Columbia 3 3 6 40 35
8 Host 1 5 6 28 52
9 Nova Scotia 1 4 6 24 54
10 Newfoundland 0 6 6 12 56

The 7th draw raises some questions. Can Manitoba get back on track? Can Ontario slow down Quebec's surge? Can Newfoundland their first win? Will Alberta bring their "A" game to their first game of the day? And in what may be the closest game of the day, British Columbia vs Saskatchewan, which team will prevail?

The game to watch this morning is Quebec vs. Ontario. With only 3 draws remaining, the result of this contest will have a significant effect on the standings for both teams.
