The strongest survived

As expected, the three strongest teams won their games this morning and tie-breakers will take place this afternoon. Two games ended early with handshakes after 6; but one game went the distance.

Without the hammer Gregory stole a triple and, although Fraser scored a pair in the second end, Gregory took multiple points in 3, 4 and 5 to open a 10-2 lead.  Another stolen single in 6 was enough to convince Fraser to call it quits.

Also without the hammer Eddy stole one in the first; but it was all he would get because Rees proceeded to score in each of the remaining ends.  Rees scored a pair in 2 and 6 to bookend the string and had one in 3, a triple in 4 and one in 5 to complete it.

The third game was different in several ways.  The team with the hammer scored in the first, the game went the distance and the score was the closest of the three in this draw.  Team Armstrong scored a pair to open the game and stole one and two respectively in the next two ends to go ahead 5-0 and take a lead they would not relinquish.  Morris took a pair in 4 and stole a pair in 7 but it wasn't enough and Armstrong won 8-5
