Canada vs Sweden and Sweden WINS

Int he battle for tp spot it was once again Sweden that took top spot. Canada had faced this team once before in the round robin and knew it was going to be a tough game after losing the first time around.

Both Team played with near perfect pose. Battling back and forward going into the 8th end tied 5-5.

In the eight end the perfect shot continued until Armstrong on his first shot came up short on his first stone trying to draw in for shot rock. Canada is playing YELLOW stones - Sweden - RED

Armstrongs short draw faces Jungnell to place the perfect out turn guard to guard shot stone.

As shown above it leaves very little for Armstrongwith almost no angles. 2 shots are all he has. A crazy in off using the far left yellow stone hoping it roll over no only with perfect weight but also with the perfect angle. Crazy, YES! possible or chossen? NO!

Armstrong opts for a riase/take out on the yellow centre guards.

Armstrong gives it his all but the angles are no right and Sweden wins 6-5 agter 8.

Canada is not out of it yet, they just have to take the long road. Tehy now face the USA in the 2-3 game with hopes of another chance at Sweden on Saturday!

Good Luck guys and gals!
