Una vera sofferenza dire addio a Giulio Regli 15 nov 2013 | Di: Renato Negro | Categoria: News, Top News In questo momento provo una grandissima fatica a scrivere quello che devo scrivere. E’ assurdo pensare all’inizio di questa giornata con una telefonata che ti informa che un grande amico ci ha lasciato. Ho conosciuto Giulio tanti anni fa nell’ambiante dell’hockey su ghiaccio torinese. Eravamo i genitori dei nostri, allora bambini, figli che giocavano sul ghiaccio di Corso Tazzoli e di Torino Esposizioni. Ma la società sportiva dei Draghi hockey aveva sì bisogno del sostegno delle famiglie ma ancor più di persone che volessero collaborare a gestire la società. Ci trovammo così insieme a vivere di infinite riunioni e ancor più lunghi viaggi in trasferta con le squadre. Giulio, nonostante i seri impegni spesso anche notturni di lavoro, riusciva sempre a dedicare il suo tempo libero anche per le tante grane sportive. Il mondo è piccolo e mi è capitato anche di incontrare altre persone che con lui, anni prima, avevano condiviso la passione per il football americano. Anche loro di Giulio parlavano sempre esaltando la sua passione sportiva e la sua immensa disponibilità a collaborare. Gli anni passano e inizia il nuovo secolo. Io ho modo di scoprire una nuova disciplina, il curling, e decido di portare sul ghiaccio di Torino questo sport. Bastano pochi argomenti per trasmettergli il mio entusiasmo e da subito è con me ad inventare da zero quello che oggi a Torino è uno sport praticato da un buon numero di tesserati. Io sicuramente mi sono impegnato ma se non avessi avuto il sostegno di Giulio poco avrei combinato. In pochissimi anni era riuscito a diventare un bravo ice maker e un ottimo tecnico allenatore. Anche la sua passione informatica diventava indispensabile con le elaborazioni statistiche fatte di precise tabelle e classifiche. Una competenza e una disponibilità praticamente a 360°. Con lui al tuo fianco non c’era nessun obiettivo irrealizzabile e tutti i problemi erano risolvibili entro i tempi utili. E’ così che abbiamo potuto organizzare tante iniziative e tanta promozione per il curling. Non si contano le notti passate a preparare le piste del ghiaccio che il Comune di Torino poteva lasciarci a nostra disposizione con dei limiti di tempo quasi impossibili. Se per noi questo dava sconforto, per Giulio era tutto normale. Sacrificare il sonno per realizzare la pista era quasi una sorta di pegno che gli dava ancor più soddisfazione. A lavoro ultimato non potevi fare altro che inchinarti al merito dell’intelligenza e del sacrificio. Tutto impegno e lavoro a favore di tutti i giocatori dando, e ottenendo, il massimo anche quando senza soldi la gente comune rinuncia. Poi insieme decidiamo che c’è spazio per creare anche un’altra società e nasce così ASD Yellowstones che doveva naturalmente avere Giulio come suo Presidente. Ma in questi anni anche la Federazione nazionale ha compreso di trovare in Giulio un’importante risorsa sia per la commissione tecnica che come allenatore della nazionale italiana nel curling wheelchair. In tanti oggi hanno avuto l’opportunità di conoscere i suoi grandi valori. Mancherà a me mancherà a tutti. I problemi senza il suo contributo faticheranno a trovare le giuste soluzioni. Ma adesso non ci resta che sentirci vicini al dolore di Gabriella e dei figli Riccardo e Giorgio così come tutta la famiglia Regli-Dal Degan. Ciao Giulio Il funerale partirà dalla sua abitazione di via Giulia Pietro Francesco (Torino) lunedì alle 13,30 per andare direttamente al Cimitero Monumentale (corso Novara) per la cremazione alle ore 14.
