The 2015 NS Wheelchair Curling Championship is set for
January 30th to February 1st at Lakeshore Curling Club in
Lower Sackville. Two teams will play head to head in a best of five
championship series. The winner will represent Nova Scotia at the 2015 Canadian
Wheelchair Curling Championships in Boucherville, Quebec.
Veteran curler and four-time Nova Scotia Champion, Trendal
Hubley-Bolivar, will take his team to the ice seeking the championship. He will
be playing head to head against former team mate Laughie Rutt who will skip the
late George Horning team. The Horning team had considered withdrawing from the
event with the recent passing of their skip but have decided to honor George by
continuing with his plan for the year.
Hubley-Bolivar will be joined by his ongoing team mates of
Terry Coussineau, Keith Williams and Debbie Morgan. A new coach has joined
Hubley-Bolivar in the person of Bruce Wilkie, a well-known high performance
coach.
Rutt will be joined by Horning team mates Paige Fougere,
Steve Auld and Steve Parfitt. They will also be joined by Devin Forbes. They
will be coached by returning Coach Stew Slauenwhite. They are the returning
champions.
