USA stands alone at the top of the standings - Game 5 Summary

Team USA
Pat MacDonald and his USA crew stood alone after game 5 today routing Scotland 6-4.  Assistant Coach Rusty Scheiber is high on skip Patrick MacDonald "He can make the big draw when we need it."  Scotland provided a game for the USA but a blank end in the 6th seemed to be the moment they wished back after the USA took 2 in 7th.

Hak Sum Kim - Korea

Korea handed Russia a strong defeat  by handed the early performer a 9-1 lesson. In the other game of the night, we saw Slovakia come back to grab the victory out from under China by taking 3 in the 8th end to win 6-5 and sit firmly in second spot in the rankings.

Sweden wanted to win over Italy and could only manage a 3-6 loss providing Italy their first win of the tournament

The drama with Canada seemed to continue in this draw with reports that listed skip, Darryl Neighbour out of lineup dealing with a medical condition. His status is day to day. Also reported that Team Canada retains "until further notice" the lineup that beat Scotland yesterday; I think after the performance tonight Canada may reevaluate? Also reported that Team manager Wendy Morgan refused to divulge team line-up for today’s game until 30 minutes before Draw 5 and hey rightfully so. I meant if I had a lineup that saw the big ticket skip after to head home for deep personal reason and then the replacement skip deal with a medical injury that is going day to day, why would I tip my hat? Wendy is a smart coach that knows what needs to be done and how to do it. I am not going to give any team any type of opportunity to plan anything until I have to.
Sonja Gaudet
Tonight saw Sonja GAUDET remain as skip but throwing lead stones. She faced Norway the second last place team. A strong effort did not prove good enough as Norway hung on to get their first win 6-5. Tonight they face Russia and are in a near MUST win if they hope to make playoffs. Since the beginning of the World Wheelchair championships in 2001 Canada has finished no less than 4th in all but one apperance were they finished 6th.

The officials say ice in the rink is around 14 seconds hog to hog, with 3-4 feet of curl, but venue very cold which is playing on the players a little bit. They seem happy and have thing dialed in. The  venue has good internet, lots of cameras, and in-house TV and will be proving delayed selected game coverage in the next few days.  Coverage is as follows:

Draw 2 - RUSSIA v CHINA
Draw 4 - CANADA v SCOTLAND
Draw 6 - SWEDEN v SLOVAKIA
Draw 8 - USA v NORWAY
Draw 9 - SLOVAKIA v KOREA
Playoffs - one game
Semifinal
Bronze Medal Game
Gold Medal Game

And can be found at the following link: Video Coverage. Next summary is in the morning Good curling to all this afternoon in Korea.

Nice to see Sonja's surname corrected by this blogger. Also good to see this site picking up and reporting postings that were tweeted on Eric's site much earlier. Like I said earlier but not posted by this blogger...Competition is good, so those who think Eric is "jealous" should see who posts the most info quickest and most accurately.

So, the jackass staements start again. The content of this blog out does Eric by far.

Who cares about a few mistakes here and there. Chris said he was not a writer so F____ ___.

Chris states when he will or will not post and why. If you read.

Eric is able to post on the second game becuase of the time difference dumb ass.

Let me ask you this...Why has Chris's blog broke the big stories.

LIKE: Chris Sobby not going to Nationals, like Jim Armstrong heading home, like New Brunswick not go to nationals.

Who has the timely news? The quickest news> The more important news?

Funny how Eric was stopping as well hey?

Chris gives his best, is WAY more objective, and I can overlook the odd typo to get news without a second agenda, like Mr. Eales.

How many people have complained about Eales not even posting their criticism, veersus Chris.

Give me Chris anytime.
