Day 3 Draw 6 - Northern Ontario joins Manitoba and Alberta at the top

This morning's draw provided a pair of surprises when both leaders lost so we now have a three way tie at the top of the standings. As well, many curlers seemed to be having difficulties with the ice.

This afternoon we hope to see the kind of shot making that dazzled us in Draws 3 and 4 when Saskatchewan takes on Manitoba and Ontario challenges British Columbia in what could be the more exciting games of the draw.

End 1- The teams exchanged hits on rocks in the house to leave Quebec with a single
End 2 - MacDonald's last rock over curled and NLD gave up a steal of one
End 3 - Facing 3 Quebec stones, MacDonald outdrew two of them to only give up one
End 4 - Quebec put a rock behind a pair of overlapped guards, NFLD couldn't get to it.
End 5 - Boisvert made an angle raise to the back 4 foot and Lessard threw up the guard. MacDonald drew to the 4 foot also but a measure gave QC the point
End 6 - MacDonald tried a very difficult draw to try to reach the button but was too ambitious
End 7 -MacDonald tried an extremely difficult triple angle raise take out but left the Quebec stone and they shook

End 1- A good draw by Brown got Nova Scotia its point


End 2 - Cousineau made a quadruple raise take out for 2
End 3 - A slip of the house by NS gave them another steal of 2
End 4 - Levesque ended this end by hitting and sticking on the lonely NS rock
End 5 - A draw behind two overlapping guards gave NS the single
End 6 - Levesque tried an angle raise take out but took his own out instead
End 7 - NO raised their rock in protected and after a measure pickup a second point
End 8 - NS raised a rock to the 4 foot and two angle raise by NO didn't work - one NS

End 1- Bender drew for one

End 2 - Great shot making by Manitoba for a triple
End 3 - A draw around guards for the 2nd point
End 4 - A good draw around a tight guard took a steal of one

End 1- Alberta split the house and took two

End 2 - A nice draw and a pair of take outs for Alberta gave them 3
End 3 - A beautiful draw through a narrow port left Host shot and buried
End 4 - Alberta filled the house with many guards in front
End 5 - Host got one protected and drew for their second
End 6 - A series of draws left Alberta with the counter and, after shaking, the win

End 1-  Ideson's last rock covered any clean entry to the button on which Ontario's rock sat

End 2 - An ON shot rock back of the button and guarded could not be removed
End 3 - Ideson drew in for the 3rd scoring stone
End 4 - Ontario protected a single rock in the house
End 5 - Ontario put a rock on the button behind a pair of guards but BC removed it and stayed for the single
End 6 - Ideson drew to the button to sit on the BC stone and take one
End 7 - BC clustered three rocks around the button and behind several guards
End 8 - Austgarden threw a take out and rolled inside to join 2 that were already there in the 4 foot to force the extra end
End 9 - Ideson hit the BC rock that was on the button and stayed for the winning point
