Day 5 Draw 9 - One last chance and the challenge of Ontario

In Draw 8 play Alberta and Quebec eked out wins over Manitoba and Northern Ontario respectively and Saskatchewan's win enabled them to stay tied with Quebec behind Alberta. The loses by Manitoba and Northern Ontario left them tied in 5th place and British Columbia and Nova Scotia are deadlocked in 7th. Trailing the field and also tied are Newfoundland and the Host team from the north of the province.

Going into the final draw, we know Alberta is definitely in the playoffs as they are in first place by themselves.

The featured game of the day pits the two Ontario teams against each other with the winner being awarded the John McCrae Cup. This Cup is an annual challenge between the OCA and the NOCA representatives. In addition to this, if Ontario wins, they remain in the last playoff spot; if Northern Ontario wins, we would need tie breakers to see which team would get the last playoff spot.

  VS

Another game with special implications is the one between Quebec and Manitoba. If Manitoba wins they would join other teams at 5-4 and in the tie breaking situation.
