Earlier today, the Campionato Italiano 2014-2015 schedule for wheelchair curling was announced on the Comitato Italiano Paralimpico website, along with the news that the league would feature seven teams.  This is up from six teams who participated last year.  l’Albatros Trento di Cagol has two teams competing in the league. Trentino Curling, Cortina 66, DISVAL AOSTA, Sport di Più e CC Claut are some of the other teams in the leagues.

The Palaghiaccio di Dolonne a Courmayeur facility is expected to be available for competition this year, after having been closed for a while.  The facility was the home for the DISVAL AOSTA team.  DISVAL comes into the competition was 2013 – 2014 champions, with team members Egidio Marchese, Emanuele Spelorzi, G. Fabrizio Ferrero, Maurizio Mauceri and Rita Dal Monte. After playing a few seasons for Trentino Curling and winning two championships, Sergio De Florian has made the move to  l’Albatros Trento di Cagol.

The season is important in Italian wheelchair curling because it assists national selectors in choosing the team to compete in upcoming World Cup events and other internationals later in the season.
